Sacramento’s Der Biergarten Teams up with Germany’s Hofbrau Munchen for International Masskrugstemmen Competition
In a sensational blend of Bavarian tradition and Californian spirit, Sacramento’s premier beer garden, Der Biergarten, has been handpicked by the world-renowned German brewery, Hofbrau Munchen (HB Brewing), to host California’s segment of the international strength competition, Masskrugstemmen.
Steeped in German tradition, Masskrugstemmen is a gripping contest that tests the limits of human endurance. Contestants must hold a one-liter beer stein with a straight arm for the longest time possible. This spirited spectacle is set to bring a dash of Bavarian charm to the heart of Sacramento this summer.
Der Biergarten opens its doors to the Masskrugstemmen competition on Friday, June 30th, with the grand finale set for Friday, July 28th. The events will be held every Friday night, with competitors checking in at 9pm and the contest getting underway at 9:30pm. The competition is open to both men and women, and culminates in a grand prize that extends beyond the state and national boundaries.
The Sacramento champion will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to New York for the national finals. And the stakes are even higher as the national winner will be transported to Germany for the world Masskrugstemmen competition.
